Few people illustrate the current renaissance in Portuguese wine better than Nuno Mira do Ó. Nuno scours the length of the country in search of old, forgotten parcels of local grape varieties. He then pursues a light-touch approach in order to let those grapes express themselves in the bottle. This spicy, silky red wine is a blend of hand-picked grapes - jaen, alfrocheiro, touriga nacional, to name a few - from the granite soils of the Dão.
Tastes like: Wild cherry, violet, leather, cinnamon.
How to drink: With BBQ, mushroom katsu, or a hearty stew.
